Support for Local Fiber Community, Artists and Farmers
Thank you for considering supporting our local fiber community here in WNC which was hit hard by Helene at the end of September. Our community is reeling. We are still learning of the impacts on local fiber farmers and artists.
Ways you can specifically help the Local Fiber Arts community (we'll keep adding links as we learn of them):
- Donate to Local Cloth as they fundraise to support all the fiber artists who lost their creations and tools and rebuild their collective shop/workshop.
- Donate directly to Local Fiber Artists & Farmers: we will add links as become available, but you can also click the items in this "collection" as we add specific fiber artists or farmers who we have relationships who we know need support and we are fundraising for.
-
Purchase what is left of our Local Fiber artist products and Fiber Farmer yarns. All proceeds through the end of November will go to the farmers & fiber artists. They have already been paid up front for their yarns, but we want to give back to them to help rebuild and sustain our fiber arts community.
Other places to give to the larger WNC area relief efforts. Money most important at this time and NOT stuff. This allows grassroots orgs especially to meet needs of the moment as they arise.
