This hat begins with the llama lining to keep your ears nice and warm. The earflaps are knit top down and then transition to the Croft yarn and knit bottom up for the outer side of the earflaps and hat. There's enough leftover yarn to make a plain striped hat or perhaps fingerless mitts for your adventurer/shepherd.
The Croft yarn is produced from 100% Shetland Island wool. "Crofting" is basically a small scale form of traditional farming. "Crofting is integral to the landscape, cultural heritage and social economy of the Shetland Islands. It bonds people and places in a unique way, preserving livelihoods and age old traditions."
Llama Una or Classic Alpaca: both sourced from Peru
