A number of local fiber artists and farmers have been devastated by Helene here in Asheville and WNC. Local Cloth was virtually destroyed having a devastating impact on a number of local fiber artists. You can donate directly to Local Cloth by following this link. Jennifer Woodruff is a fiber artist at Local Cloth who we recently partnered with for our Crafters for Kamala event. You can also donate to Jennifer's Gofundme here.

Jennifer dyed some beautiful "I Stand With Her" t-shirts in support of the Harris campaign. Thankfully we still have some of these shirts at the store from our event just days(!) before the storm. As soon as we are able to get in to the store and inventory them we will add them here so you can purchase a shirt in addition (if you wish) to donating to supporting Jennifer Woodruff directly. Jennifer's studio was at Local Cloth - along with all her tools, supplies, and countless irreplaceable handmade items.

"Jennifer's journey began under the tender guidance of her late mother, Libby Woodruff, who first opened her eyes to the enchanting world of earth-based art and dyeing. This connection with her mother's legacy inspired Jennifer to embrace the magic of color derived from natural sources and to further elevate these age-old techniques into the contemporary realm." Jennifer is a native of WNC and is thoroughly devastated (personally and professionally) by this storm.

She will hopefully have a gofundme started soon, but meanwhile we want to offer this space as a way to further donate to this local fiber artist, but this way no fees are involved. If you have tools you can donate to Jennifer please contact us directly. She lost a new babylock sewing machine, electric drum carder, a food processor (for katazome resist), books, teaching tools, brushes, and so much more. Perhaps some folks have these items sitting in their own studios and not in use. Contact us if you think you can help replace some of these much needed tools.

NOTE: We are not a non-profit. Your donation here is not tax deductible. We are just going to do these donations as a pass through. Everything collected will be passed along to Jennifer directly. Mutual Aide! If you want to donate but need it to be tax-deductible, you can donate to Local Cloth's general call for donations (which is also a very worthy cause) by going to this link.
