A number of local fiber artists and farmers have been devastated by Helene here in Asheville and WNC. Marcia Kummerle has been creating her Good Fibrations yarn in Barnardsville for long enough that she has taught every other fiber farmer in the region a thing or two over the years.
Marcia does not plan on leaving and wants to rebuild. Her studio and barn took significant interior damage, but some is still standing and even some of her supplies, that were up high, are still there. Significant structural repairs will need to happen.
