A number of local fiber artists and farmers have been devastated by Helene here in Asheville and WNC. We've been working with Trey & Scott of Sourwood Fiber Farm in Hoopers Creek (Fletcher), NC for a number of years now. They raise Shetland and Leicester Longwool sheep and raise bees. Their farm survived, but was hard hit by the storm: Trees are down, roads are washed out, electricity and water are off, the barn is damaged, and the animals are in need of feed. Some friends of theirs in Texas have started a gofund me for Sourwood since they can't get online.

From the gofundme: "Any amount will help. All donations go directly to the farm to repair buildings, feed livestock and get a generator to make the water well work. Please consider a donation that will save this rural American farm. Thank you."

Ways You Can Help these farmers:

  • contribute to the gofundme directly here
  • contribute via one of the increments below and we will pass along to them
  • buy some of their beautiful yarns here. All proceeds will go to Trey & Scott. They have already been paid up front for this yarn but we are dedicating all proceeds back to them at this time.

NOTE: We are not a non-profit. Your donation here is not tax deductible. We are just going to do these donations as a pass through. Everything collected will be passed along to Trey & Scott directly.
