Peace Fleece was the first yarn we added to the store when we took over back in 2010. We love Peace Fleece. not only is it a beautiful sturdy wool, but its mission of connecting farmers across difference has always inspired us. You can read the Peace Fleece story here. The original creators of Peace Fleece (Peter and Marty) have now retired, but the yarn is still milled in the same place (Harrisville Mills) and continues to bring the wool -- and communities -- of Americans and Native American/Indigenous farmers together.
"This yarn is so good for durable sweaters. It's not the softest yarn we sell, but Elizabeth made me a pullover out of it that I've been wearing for almost ten years, and there's not a single pill, even under the arms! I always tell people if they want to make an heirloom sweater that will hold up to wear over multiple generations, this is the yarn to use." --Rik
